Security and Platform Engineer

About the role

SynchrotronAI® builds governed AI agents that do real work: Tariff Agent, Capital Agent, ScamFreeLife, and AI Off Now™. Security is part of how we build: our CTO is CISSP-certified, and AI Off Now™ exists to keep AI under human control.

As our first security and platform engineer, you will own the cloud platform our products run on and lead our path to the security standards that enterprise and government customers expect.

What you will do

  • Run and harden our cloud environments with infrastructure as code.
  • Own identity, access, secrets, encryption, logging, and monitoring across our products.
  • Secure our CI/CD pipelines, with code and dependency scanning, and keep releases fast and safe.
  • Build alerting and dashboards from security signals, and lead incident response.
  • Run security reviews and vulnerability management across our code and infrastructure.
  • Build the controls and evidence for frameworks such as SOC 2, CMMC, and FedRAMP as our government work grows.
  • Answer security questionnaires and support customer security reviews.

What you bring

  • A degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Four or more years in security, cloud, or platform engineering.
  • Deep AWS experience, and infrastructure as code with Terraform or a similar tool.
  • Hands-on experience with identity and access management, network security, containers, logging, and incident response.
  • Scripting in Python or Bash for automation.
  • Clear writing for policies, runbooks, and customer security reviews.

Nice to have

  • A security certification such as CISSP, CCSP, or AWS Certified Security – Specialty.
  • Experience with SOC 2, ISO 27001, ISO 42001, NIST SP 800-53 or 800-171, CMMC, or FedRAMP.
  • Familiarity with Vanta or a similar compliance automation platform.
  • Experience securing AI and large language model systems.
  • An active security clearance, or eligibility to obtain one.
